Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! I had to work on my birthday, which was kind of lame, but my coworkers bought cake and ice cream for me. XD It was still a nice birthday, though, and coming back to see the birthday messages made it even better. And holy crap, someone got me a DA subscription?! I don't know who you are, but thank you, Anon!! ~Letmehugyouplz (https://www.deviantart.com/letmehugyouplz) I wasn't expecting the wishes let alone gifts. For right now, I think I'll use my sub to take change my journal layout.

Happy New Year, everyone! We've survived the Apocalypse! :dummy: Anyone make resolutions? Mine was to see a bigger improvement in my drawing this year. I didn't do much observational drawing outside gestures last year, and there wasn't a big enough improvement in my drawing. I mean, it was there, just not enough for my taste, definitely not as big a jump as I was making in art school. So, here's hoping I can change that with more studies. I was sketching when midnight hit, so I entered the new year drawing. That's gotta be a good sign. 8D

1$ -100 POINTS Commissions! Help a fellow artist!!:)

Hello, i'm here to offer you some cheap and good quality commissions!.

Im an art student, and since my parents do not support my studies im on my own in this.

So i use my skills to earn money!. Take a look at my art and if you like it, comission me or just leave a nice comment to keep encouraging me :).

1$ Commissions post: celesterui.deviantart.com/jour…

You should rethink your prices. You're charging well below minimum wage. I'm an art student, too, and I know all too well how expensive classes and supplies can be. A few dollars won't make a substantial difference in your bank account. Plus, the amount of work you would need to do to actually benefit from the money wouldn't be worth it. And to be honest, very cheap commissions don't attract the best crowd. You tend to get kids who are ridiculously picky and demanding for the prices they're paying.

Look into how long it takes you to draw a picture and then charge by the hour. For example, it takes me about 2 hours to do lineart of 1 character. If I charged $8/hr, then in this scenario, I'd charge $16 for a lineart commission. Whatever price you pick shouldn't be below $7/hr since that's minimum wage in most areas. And don't worry about people complaining about the prices being high. You don't want to deal with any customer that whines about paying $8 for a drawing, anyway.

Unfortunately, being a college student myself, money's tight right now (I'm considering opening commissions myself, tbh.) So, I haven't taken on any commissions because of that. But, your prices are way too low. Your work's worth more that $1. Good luck!!
Yeah, you are right.  Im aware of the consequences. :-(
I'll try to rise my prices in the nearest future :))
Thank you for replying and giving me advice!, i really appreciate this.
Also good luck on your possible future commissions! X)
